Welcome to yet another year of exceptional, excellent education at Drakensberg. 
We trust that your association with our school will be enriching and rewarding
In 2012.
From the outset we wish to request our parents to familiarise themselves with
the School Rules and support the educator component to deliver top class
education in a stimulating and enhancing educational atmosphere.
We aim to improve in all spheres of Drakensberg and therefore it is imperative
that all parents, new and old, attend the Back-to-School, Parent’s and Teacher’s
meetings as indicated in the term planner.
School Governing Body elections will take place during March this year.
Please use the available time to research and source possible candidates for
nominations to this important forum.   Familiarise yourself with their inclination
to promote the best interest of Drakensberg Primary School and their bona fide
reasons for candidacy to the School Governing Body.

It is with pleasure that I can announce that our Science and Technology classroom has been upgraded with an interactive whiteboard and multi-media system.   Thanks to our 2011 grade 7 group for all your hard work in raising the funds to make this possible.
We would also like to expand our menagerie and we are looking for suitable reptiles and tropical fish for our fish tank.   If you can assist in this matter, it would be appreciated.   Please feel free to contact Mr. S. Talke at Drakensberg Primary School.

Dit is met trots dat ons kan aankondig dat skoolfonds vir 2012, R6 100 per kind per jaar bly.   Dankie aan die besluitnemers wat regtig uit hul pad gegaan het om ook aan ons ouers se “sakke” te dink.   Stuur asseblief die volgende 2 vorms s.s.m. terug:
1.    Herregistrasie 2012
2.    Aanvaarding van skoolfonds vir 2012

Die jaar is amper op sy rug.   Dankie aan elke ouer wat saam met hulle kinders geleer het vir die eksamens.  
Na afloop van die eksamen, word steeds van u kind verwag om skool toe te kom en steeds die skoolreëls na te kom.   Dit geld veral ten opsigte van skooluniform, hare en stiptelikheid.
Die antwoordstelle van die eksamen word met die kinders deurgegaan om foute uit te wys en ook omdat hulle die beste modereerders is.   Geen punt wat verdien is, sal geïgnoreer word nie.   Geen antwoordstelle sal huis toe gestuur word nie.

Verder word ‘n vol program van aktiwiteite aangebied om u kinders sinvol en konstruktief besig te hou. Deelname hieraan sal u kind verryk en bydra tot sy/haar holistiese ontwikkeling.   (Sien verder die Drakie-aktiwiteite vir die res van die jaar).

2.    Acceptance of school fees for 2012

The year has come to an end.   Thank you to all the parents who supported their children by helping them study for the exams.   After the exam period, your child is still expected to attend school, obeying school rules up to the last day.  This is especially applicable to school uniform, tidy hair and punctuality.   Exam answers will be discussed with pupils to point out their mistakes.   Pupils are the best moderators and no mark earned, will be ignored.
No papers will be sent home.



We also have a full programme of activities ahead, to keep your child busy in a constructive way.   Participating in these significant activities, contributes to holistic development of the child.

U het lank reeds die afbakening van elke graad se leerwerk vir die eksamen ontvang. Ons glo dat u weet waar die skrywe is en dat u verseker dat u kind deeglik voorberei.
GOEIE NUUS! Vanaf Maandag, 14 November, tot die skool sluit, gaan alle kinders om 12:15 huis toe om te kan LEER.

Exams!
Each parent has already received the information regarding which work has to be prepared for the exams. We believe that you know where this letter is and that you are ensuring that your child is preparing for this last exam of the year,
GOOD NEWS! As from Monday, 14 November, until the schools close, all children will go home at 12:15 to STUDY.
